Business premises listed on council websites

You don't have to bother with agents to find a suitable space for your business. I just found a database of available premises on my local council website.

It even shows the price! You can find a place for your business and then its easy to contact the agent mentioned on the premises listing to sort out the detail.

Sounds like a good low pressure route to me :D

Great Article - How we read online.

You're probably going to read this.

It's a short paragraph at the top of the page. It's surrounded by white space. It's in small type.

To really get your attention, I should write like this:

- Bulleted list

- Occasional use of bold to prevent skimming

- Short sentence fragments

- Explanatory subheads

- No puns

- Did I mention lists?

Does waverley council really want our input?

Why so many barriers to entry? I mean, who wants to fill out a form before they fill out a form? (In other words, who wants to register for a consultation?). Asking people to create and remember a new password for things like a public waste consultation is a big ask! Especially when you consider the number of passwords, pins and unique identifying numbers people are expected to track these days.

Yes, it's too late to remove the barriers from this consultation, but what about the next?
